This week has been pretty amazing so far.  I’ve very much enjoyed how different this week at work is; sometimes variety really is the spice of life!  Speaking of spices, Dave and I planted curry in our garden this week.  The curry is pretty exciting, but the part that’s the most exciting is that we planted anything in ‘a garden.’  We recently acquired a plot in the community garden (this is really hard to do in Seattle, the wait list can last anywhere from 1 to 3 years).  I’ll have to share photos as it gets up and running, but needless to say we’ve spent a couple weekend days working in our garden and it’s been lovely.

After seeing this yummy hazelnut latte recipe from Sincerly, Kinsey I’ve been obsessed with making them for Dave and I, every morning, for the past month and a half.  I wanted to take all my beautiful readers through the process with me:

1.) I get my lovely moka express and Herkimer espresso (it is by far the BEST espresso in Seattle-Dave and I miss living near their Phinny location, but we’re VERY happy with our new place):

2.) Then you grind up the beans:

I find that it tastes so much better when you grind the beans the same day that you brew.

3.) Because I have a moka express I do not have a milk steamer, I’ve been toying with the notion of getting a milk frother (to obtain the foam), but I’ve found that the stove does the trick:

I put a teaspoon of vanilla and two tablespoons of hazelnut syrup
While I’m heating the almond milk on the stove I add one teaspoon of vanilla and two tablespoons of hazelnut syrup

4.) Voila:

My bestie, Tara graduated from WSU School of Veterinarian Medicine and she gave me this mug, I'm so proud of her!

So that’s my rendition of the hazelnut almond milk latte, it’s a very light latte and we’ve been really enjoying it.  Not only does it taste amazing, but it’s low calorie and is saving us money.

Until next time…

I plan on showing you the steps it took to do this:
