2016…That’s a Wrap

Well, for many of us 2016 was complete shit! It definitely had it’s share of ups and downs for the Paolone-Webb household; however, I am going to use this post as a place to focus on my favorite things that happened this last year. Don’t worry, you know me I’ll share about the shit stuff in future posts 😉

1.) As many of you know for the last half of 2015 and the first half of 2016 we lived in Orange County. It was beautiful, sunny, and such an adventure!

DSC_0014

2.) There was that time we took a road trip to Arizona to visit uncle Jeff and his animal sanctuary.

IMG_2282.jpg

3.) Going to the Bahamas, and eating the yumminess that was in the below coconut!!!!

IMG_2407.jpg

4.) Kelley came to visit, and we went to Disneyland and the women’s spa and it was everything.

IMG_2560.jpg

5.) Kate, Em, Lauren, and mom came and we went to disneyland and explored Orange County.

IMG_2927.JPG

6.) Okay, let’s be honest, I went to Disneyland A LOT this year, and I am stoked AF about it!

IMG_2643.JPG

7.) We moved back to Seattle and it was perfect timing.

IMG_2965.jpg

8.) We broke nonna out of the hospital for Christmas Eve dinner and I’m sooo happy we did. I love this woman so hard!

IMG_3500.jpg

9.) Three amazing people in my life sealed the deal with their partners: Kelley & Russell, Lena & Josh, and Kate & Jon. Their weddings were definitely some of my favorite memories of 2016.

Wedding ladies

10.) We are pregnant with a little girl! She is due June 18th 2017, and we are so ecstatic I can’t even express it. I mean I guess this one is probably my biggest highlight of 2016, and I think Dave would say the same!

Bump 10 and 18.jpg

The forecast for 2017 calls for more blog posts from this girl! Here’s wishing you all a brilliant year!

Be well.

Girl’s Weekend…Errr Actually Jill’s Weekend

This weekend was the #2ndgirlsweekendpalmsprings (longest hashtag ever…we couldn’t figure our shit out), and it was simply the best!

IMG_2706.JPG

Abby was having a really good time 😉  I laughed so hard this weekend, if I had slightly worse bladder control, I would have peed myself multiple times.

IMG_2704.JPG

Jill has been such a good friend, and when I decided I wanted to post about this weekend it reminded me that I didn’t do a post on her visit back in October.  My OCD just won’t allow that…

In October these two lovely ladies came to see me and it was everything!

IMG_0022

We started our weekend off the right way….with donuts, and it’s safe to say that Ilee was happy!

IMG_0023

Then Charlie needed a cuddle.

DSC_0013.JPG

After Charlie was sufficiently cuddled we headed to the pool.

IMG_0020.jpg

The next day we took the ladies down to the Los Rios Historic District of San Juan Capistrano.  One of my favorite areas!  When we first moved down here I spent so much time at Hidden House Coffee shop.

DSC_0028

Ilee is sooooo adorable!

DSC_0025.JPG

Dave and I got such a kick out of her.

DSC_0031.JPGAfter exploring the area, we headed to San Clemente for some Pizza Port, beer+pizza=THE BEST!

DSC_0044.JPG

Then it was time for the beach.  I think Dave really loves taking friends and family to San Onofre because it means so much to him.  It’s where his dad taught him to surf, and he has so many fond memories.

DSC_0054.JPG

I love surf culture, I haven’t met a mean surfer.

DSC_0047

Ilee fell asleep before we even got there, look at this little bean!

DSC_0064.JPG

Jill and I jumped in to boogie board while Dave watched over a sleeping Ilee.

When she woke up we took advantage of her excitement and had ourselves a pretty good time.

DSC_0080.JPG

Alright, maybe I was the one who was extremely excited (if you couldn’t tell by that face)!

#Beautifulladies

DSC_0068

I mean, look at this face.

DSC_0088.JPG

DSC_0073.JPG

Such a good time at the beach with a few of my favorites!  I’m so glad I’ve gotten to share so many special moments at this beach with Dave and friends!

DSC_0099

The next day was their last day 😦 but we were able to grab brunch and walk around Newport Beach before they headed out.  When we were about to leave I caught Dave and Ilee swapping stories….pretty adorable!

DSC_0116

I love these girls, and I’m so glad that they came down to visit!!!!  I can’t wait until the next visit (…Disneyland???)

Love you Jill & Ilee!

Be well.

Sentence Per Picture (Disneyland Style)

The first time I came to Disneyland was in 1995, and I just love that certain aspects of Disney stay the same.

IMG_1423.jpg

Both days we constantly found ourselves discussing the tremendous thought and creativity that goes into their ability to overlap new decor onto the original rides/decorations.

IMG_1424

The last time we visited the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad was closed for refurbishment.  It’s always such a disappointment when a ride is closed (this time it was pirates), but I have to admit the new additions to the Railroad ride were perfect!

IMG_1427

This little guy had a good time too!

IMG_1428

We got stuck at this point on the Haunted Mansion, and we had some intimate chats with Jack.

IMG_1434.jpg
NO INDIANA JONES!!!!!!!! Best.Ride.Ever.

IMG_1440

I know that the whole Diamond Disney is just another way for them to sell stuff around the park, but honestly it looked really cool.

IMG_1444

Watch out Disneyland, you got some real thugs on Splash Mountain!

IMG_1450

I’ve decided rollercoasters are the great equalizer, perhaps we should put presidential candidates on a roller coaster together and then as they debate just have a slide show of the pics on projector behind them.

IMG_1468.jpg

Turns out I’m a thrilling kisser!

IMG_1470.jpg

I love that it was lit up at night!!

IMG_1471.jpg

What an amazing couple of days!  I’m so excited that this place is a 20 minute drive away!

Be well.

Sentence Per Picture (California Adventure Style)

And, we’re off…

IMG_1376.JPG

Seeing this “building” always makes me so happy because it means that Hollywood Tower Hotel is just around the corner!!!!!!!

IMG_1381.JPG

Did I ever tell you guys about the time that I ran into a fire hydrant because I was so excited to get to this ride:

IMG_1382.JPG

This next photo is actually from December 2013, when I ran into said hydrant, suffice to say I get a little excited when it comes to the above tower.

bruise.jpg

Our friend told us how amazing the new Car’s area is, and boy did it live up to his description!

IMG_1387.jpg

I love how each area of the Disney parks makes you feel like your transported to a whole new world (<–oh wow, did you see what happened there?)

IMG_1390.jpg

All the little details.

IMG_1389

Clearly I took care of little details too, my toe nails matched my shirt!! #totalaccident

IMG_1392.jpg

Let the race begin!!

IMG_1393.jpg

Shot from the Cars ride.

IMG_1394.jpg

I’m not gonna lie, I get really excited when I see anything Italian!

IMG_1397.jpg

Apparently I get a big thrill trying to kill Dave on the Hollywood Tower too!

IMG_1475.JPG

We rode the rollercoaster twice; any roller coaster that goes upside-down wins in my book.

IMG_1401.jpg

Guess what? You can drink in California Adventure, and the Cove Bar is one of the best places to do it.  So we waited in a very long line in order to do so.

IMG_1402.jpg

It was worth it to have this view while I drank my horchata style beverage, highly recommend it!!!

IMG_1409.jpg
Later came the lobster nachos which I read about all over the internets, and let me tell you they were as bad ass as everyone says!

IMG_1417

Sadly as we made our way through the bugs life area to get to the Tower for one final ride we heard over the intercom that Adventure land was closed (at 10pm???) we were bummed but knew we had Disneyland to look forward to.

IMG_1422.jpg

Until tomorrow….

Be well.

10.12.14

It’s almost been a year since my our wedding (I swear, EVERY time – don’t worry Dave laughs), so I thought I’d share some of our photos with you all.  I actually remember when I was originally going to share them, right around the time we got the news about Dave’s dad.  The blog took a backseat at that time, but it’s been a steady presence in my life for the last little bit so I’m happy to have the opportunity to share.

The day, 10.12.14, was the most fun, amazing, whirl wind of excitement.  The team we assembled was fabulous, everyone came through and exceeded our expectations!

I would say that our venue was pretty much the best thing since sliced bread.  Bride magazine agrees, they won best venue for 2015!

There are more photos at our wonderful photographer’s, Rick & Anna’s, blog post about the wedding.  They were so amazing to work with, I would highly recommend them!

One of my favorite aspects of our wedding was the slow motion video booth, it was a blast!

Thank you to everyone who made our day amazing, and thank you to everyone who came!!

Weekend recap

Hi Hi!!!

I can’t believe it’s already Wednesday?  Clearly time has gotten away from me as I’m recapping my weekend a little late in the game.  This weekend was just so jam packed with amazingness that I thought I would share some of the deets with you all.

It started on Friday night when my friend, Savannah, and her husband came over to watch the movie “Teeth.”  Yeah I’m talking about this movie:

Don’t shy away, this is a terribad movie that you just shouldn’t pass up!

WAIT, hold up, rewind to Thursday night, Dave and I had a mini date at Chuck’s Hop Shop.  Prior to getting there we procured some pizza from Mio Posto (I think I just peed a little thinking about the potato pizza).

ommmnonononononon

IMG_0014.jpgThe best part was seeing a couple families at Chuck’s with toddlers, I don’t know why I liked this but it made me think of when Dave and I have kids 🙂 🙂

It also made me think about how much I love pizza

IMG_0016.GIF

Okay, fast forward to Saturday morning, bright and early I took a spin class at Beautiful Bike.  Don’t let the term ‘spin class’ fool you, this is anything but a typical spin class.  I felt like I was riding with a crew on the Tour de France.  I CAN’T wait to get back into that studio to try another class, so hard, and yet so much fun!

Later that morning we were enjoying a lovely brunch with our friends Kelley and Russell at Revel.  Always such a treat to eat at Revel, but it was definitely amplified by the awesome company.  Then we walked around and sat by the water, soaking up as much of the gorgeous day as we could.  I’m shooting myself in the foot for not taking photos of the delicious meal, but aw well, sometimes you must enjoy life and be totally in the moment.

By the time we got home I was exHAUSTED.  I had forgot that we had made reservations at Il Corvo for dinner about a month ago.  Don’t judge my journey, but I kind of wanted to bail on our reservation.  I summoned all my energy and got my butt into a date outfit, and out the door.

DSC_0001.JPG

I love the ambiance at Il Corvo, it reminds me of my nonna’s house and it makes me long to go see her, and go to Italy!  The meal was prix fixe, and you could tell it was made with love and skill, the Italian way for sure.

Sunday morning it was time for my friend and co-worker’s baby shower at my place.

DSC_0036.JPG

It was very fun and I’m going to have a full post on it later.

After all the ladies left and I tidied up I headed out for my 7 miler.  I went towards Bellevue and EVERY time I go across the 90 bridge I get really freaked out that a car/truck is gonna kick something up at me.  I swear, every 5 seconds I visualize it and have a full body spasm.

IMG_0032.jpg

It NEVER gets better!

All in all a great weekend.

Be well.

Kalli’s baby shower

I was honored to be able to hold a co-worker and friend’s baby shower at my place on Sunday!  Kalli is such a great person, she is very sweet and when I’m around her I find myself smiling more!

Her baby is coming very soon, and all the other SLPs at Boyer and myself decided to have a baby shower for her.  She is having a little baby girl

DSC_0039.JPG

And we just can’t wait to meet her!!  Even though we all knew she was having a girl I had this urge to make a gender revealing cake.  My plan was to make cupcakes with pink cake hearts in them, but then that seemed like too much work so I turned it into a cake.

DSC_0022.JPG

Turns out the recipe for both the cake and the icing weren’t that great, so this cake was all for the unnecessary gender revealing factor.  It satisfied something in me and I think Kalli was amused 😛

The decoration committee was in full force and I’m so proud of those girls!

DSC_0028.JPG

Kalli and Josh’s theme is “Welcome to the world.”  They love to travel (they recently went to Thailand), and so we went all out with maps!

DSC_0018.JPG

Everyone chipped in on food and dessert and there were so many yummy treats to eat.

DSC_0021.JPG

Jenny left me a few of the pretty plants and the Canadian flag!! Yay shout out to my homeland 🙂

DSC_0023.JPG

Rebecca did a great job with the baby shower games, my favorite was ‘guess the baby’

DSC_0026.JPG

Mostly because the set up was so pretty.  Can’t go wrong with an old fashion trunk!

Baby made out like a bandit, and so did the babies papa with some yummy beer.

DSC_0046.JPG

The shower was so much fun, and Kalli is such a warm person and it’s so easy to see why people love her!

DSC_0036.JPG

We all had so much fun putting it on, I guess if we ever want to branch out of speech therapy we could always go into baby shower planning 🙂  Love these girls!

Be well.

Stagette weekend

One of the most amazing weekends of my life was September 20th, my cousin/friend, Katie, and friend-for-forever, Tara, threw me some amazing parties.  There was help from a lot of other ladies as well (namely Emily, Luisa, Lauren), but I’m gonna avoid the grammy’s thank you speech and just fill your eyes with the amazingness that it was.

N& D.jpg

The ladies rented a beautiful house in capitol hill, and the weekend started with a dinner at Barrio.  It was a great surprise because I hadn’t heard great things about Barrio and was pleasantly surprised when the food was amazing.

The next morning I was pampered to the extreme.  I went on a walk for coffee with my friend Jill and my cousin Spencer and when I came home I was greeted by Emily.

em.jpg

I was told to go downstairs and await.  Which I’m so glad I did because when I was allowed to come up all the beautiful decorations were up (*Kate and Em are amazing, they should start a business).

IMG_6784.JPG
IMG_6788.JPG

IMG_6789.JPG
IMG_6785.JPG

I wish I would have snapped more pictures of all the amazing things they did.  I can’t believe I didn’t get a photo of the yogurt bar (with Ellenos yogurt!), bloody mary bar, quiches and baked goods from Bakery Nouveau, and Victrola Coffee.  I have to add that the amazing planners came in from out of town…pretty amazing that they found the most delicious Seattle goods!

IMG_7383.JPG

We played some great games and I received some really lovely gifts from all my friends and family 🙂

IMG_6783.JPG

This photo is thanks to my lovely friend Tiffany 🙂

There was a brief intermission which allowed me to go on a run (while the planners got back to work…those ladies were working non-stop all weekend), and then come back and get into my sexy gear….

IMG_7404.JPG

All attendants were given bags containing treats and items to alleviate any party induced ailments.  Featured item in my bag….the penis wand, it was in full force all evening, but really shined during the dancing portion of the evening.

IMG_0528.jpg

We played some great games!  I really appreciate all the planning and effort that went into both parties 🙂  After the structured portion of the night we went out for some dancing.

IMG_7407.JPG

The penis straws were in full force!  As was the dancing 🙂

IMG_6830
IMG_6857

Such an amazing weekend.  I can’t thank the friends and family in my life enough.  There’s a quote that a good friend of mine shared with me (I don’t know who it’s by, or if I have it accurately, but I’m gonna share it), “A good friend makes you feel like you have the better end of the deal.”  My friends are constantly making me feel like I’m getting the better end of the deal, and I just couldn’t live without them!

Be well.
